“Leans his whole body on you, doesn't know he's big”
I'm Cooper. I came in as a stray with no chip, but I settled in fast. I lean on people. A lot.
Everything in here came from someone who spent time with her — her vet, her fosters, the volunteers who walked her. Nothing has been invented to fill a gap. Where we did not know something, we left it out.

Please don't
×Don't let him jump into the car on his own yet, he tried and yelped.
×Don't turn your back around food, he counter surfs the second you do.
She has just lost every routine she had. Most of what looks like a behaviour problem in week one is a dog who does not yet know what happens next. Give her a week of the same thing happening at the same time before you decide who she is.

Settling in
•When I first came in I leaned my whole body on the person doing my paperwork.
People
•I don't know I'm a big dog, I'll still try to get in your lap.
•I take treats gentle, lips only, no teeth.
Comfort and quirks
•If you say my name while I'm sleeping I'll wag without even opening my eyes.
Still working on
•I need to be lifted into the car for now, I tried jumping in myself and it went wrong.
•I counter surf the second you turn away.

The people who knew her first
Real people, and they would rather hear from you early than late.
Jordan ReyesStaff“Came in as a stray, no chip. Big goofy dog, leaned his whole body on me while I did the paperwork.”
Kemi OyelaranStaff“checked on cooper sleeping it off wagged when I said his name without even opening his eyes”
Tomas IglesiasVolunteer“Cooper does not know he is large. Tried to get in my lap. Very gentle taking treats, uses his lips not his teeth.”
local dropVolunteer“please don't let him jump into the car on his own yet, he tried today and yelped. lift him in. also he counter surfs the second you turn around”
I'm goofy and I lean and I don't have great awareness of my own size, but I'm gentle with it. Just lift me into the car and watch your counters, and we'll get along fine.
Printed 22 August 2026 from 4 notes left by fosters, volunteers and staff, and 5 records from her medical file. The two systems share no identifier, so records were matched on name and date; anything we could not match confidently was left out rather than guessed. If something in here is wrong, tell us and we will correct it — her record is supposed to outlive our guesses.
